Hose

Type 1

According to the typology given in Nockert, Type 1 Hose are typified as

"Long hose with foot. The leg cut in one piece -- on the diagonal -- with a rear seam ending in a point at the back. Cut up at the bottom so as to form a wedge-shaped piece above the foot, with a rectangular piece on each side of the gore reaching down the sides of the foot to form the rear of the hose foot. The front of the hose foot is triangular, cut on the diagonal and sewn together beneath the foot and together with the leg of the foot."

There are three examples of this type of hose; the Herjolfsnes, the Bremen Hose, and the Bocksten Hose.
