Hat

6 Piece Cap

Loosely based on the cap worn by the Tollund Bog man, this cap is made up of six or eight triangular pieces of fabric or leather, sewn together to form a deep cup. This band can serve as a sweatband, can be turned up, and so forth. The pieces that go into this hat are generally sewn with any number of stitches to butt them together with no overlap. Around these pieces is sewn a band of material and/or leather, either butted against the dome's edge, or folded to overlap the edge on both sides. These pieces may be stiffened, lined, tall, short, embroidered, tooled, what have you.
