No. 48. French postilion’s boot with clog bottom, lined with iron plate, used as an overboot to protect the leg in riding. They are of prodigious size, weighing twelve pounds the pair. Probably sixteenth century. Has been much worn.

No. 46. Child’s boot. Eskimo, made of untanned skin. Eighteenth century.

No. 47. Man’s Eskimo boot, made of untanned skin, and sewn throughout with raw-hide thong.
