PLATE F
FLORENTINE LEATHER PANELS OF THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY, ORIENTAL SHOES AS WORN AT THE PRESENT TIME, ETC.

The background of illustration is composed of beautiful specimens of Florentine leather panels of the sixteenth century. The photographs shown are of the feet of noted London statues, in which it will be noticed the toes are square and broad; above which are specimens of a contrivance to keep the toes in what the inventor claims to be the proper position. In the foreground are specimens of Oriental shoes as worn at the present time.
